Wrestling at Southern Valley today. Southern Valley is in a boil water ban.
If you are planning on attending the wrestling meet tomorrow at Southern Valley, please be aware they are currently under a boil-water advisory due to an unresolved E. coli issue in the local water system. Please do not drink water from any faucets or fountains while on campus. Fresh, safe drinking water will be available in orange Gatorade jugs located in the atrium and commons/cafeteria areas. Fans are encouraged to bring empty bottles or personal water bottles to fill at these stations.
Thank you to Hometown Market for your generosity. Now, make it rain 3s!

Parents,
We want to provide you with an update on several recent developments within our School District. On Monday night, the Board of Education approved a mutual separation agreement with Superintendent Brian Hof, effective at the end of the first semester of the 2025–2026 school year. Mr. Hof has served our District for many years, and we extend our appreciation for his service and wish him well in his future endeavors.
With this transition, the Board has retained the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association to assist in hiring an interim superintendent and in guiding the search for a long-term superintendent. We are hopeful that parents, staff, and other stakeholders will take an active role in this process. Your input will be essential as we work together to identify the next leader of our District.
Also on Monday night, Board members Eric Brown and Jeff Ord submitted their resignations. We thank Eric and Jeff for their service and dedication to the District over the years. With these departures, the Board will now begin the process of considering qualified individuals to fill these vacancies. We encourage parents and engaged community members to give serious thought to serving on the Board, as strong leadership and diverse perspectives are very important to the District's success moving forward.
We recognize that recent events have created frustration and concern. The superintendent’s departure, differing viewpoints among board members, and the public discussion surrounding these matters have been challenging for everyone who cares about our school and community. Despite this, the work inside our classrooms remains exceptionally strong. Our teachers, staff, and building principals continue to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every child, and their commitment to students has never wavered. We are deeply proud of them and grateful for all they do.
Our District has important work ahead, and the Board remains dedicated to rebuilding trust, strengthening communication, and restoring unity. Above all, we remain focused on what matters most—teaching, learning, and the well-being of the students we serve. If you have any questions or concerns about what comes next, please feel free to reach out to any member of the Board.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
